Tank is Sponsored Tank is a beautiful, purebred German Shepherd.  His owner got him when he was only 8 weeks old and could fit into his hands.  When he was around 2 years old, Tank was sent away for 3 months of training after he bit his owner's friend. It turns out that Tank does not like being forced to lie down. Tank was doing great after his training, until his owner moved from South Carolina into an apartment in Texas.  In his new surroundings, he became more aggressive toward strangers. His owner became concerned for Tank's safety, as well as the safety of others.  After Tank bit another person when they, too, tried to force him to lie down, his owner knew a change had to be made. A second trainer evaluated Tank and said that he was salvageable, but that it would take a tremendous amount of effort on the owner’s part.  During the time this process would take, his owner would have to worry about him accidentally getting out and getting into more trouble.  He made the hard decision that he must find another, safer home for Tank. Because Tank has a bite history, his owner could not find any traditional rescue group that would take him. He was beginning to think that the only logical, but heartbreaking, path to take was to euthanize Tank.  But then, he heard about Smiling Dog Farms from a friend in rescue. He contacted Jay and Ricky to see if they had room for this beautiful boy ... and they said “yes”. At Smiling Dog Farms, Tank has his own townhome and play yard where he can enjoy life just being a dog.  He will be able to live out his life in a secure environment, where the humans around him understand that sometimes a dog should just be able to follow dog rules ... without having to do silly things like lie down when it doesn’t want to!
