Roxy Anne NEEDS Sponsors
Roxy Anne says, "Us older dogs need families too!"
I came to Smiling Dog Farms a few years ago. My family wasn't able to keep me any more. They
called around to a lot of rescues, but everyone was filled up and no one had room for me. My
family didn't want to send me to the dog pound because I have medical issues and because I am
older ... and well, I guess you can figure out what would have happened to me there!
Then they called Smiling Dog Farms to ask if I could live at the farm. And Ricky and Jay said,
"yes"! Ricky says my medical issue is not that big a deal. Sometimes, I will get mange. It's not the
kind that other dogs can catch. It's the kind that hides out inside me, and periodically surfaces.
When I get mange, it is easy to see it coming And Ricky just puts sulphur paste on my skin. And sometimes I get low doses of
Ivermectin for a while, too. But that is all there is to it. It is an easy treatment.
Ricky and Jay say that I have such a great personality, people will not mind treating my mange, if it comes back. Sometimes I wonder, though. I have
been waiting here a really long time, and no one has adopted me yet. Jay says that the right person or family will come along. It will be someone who wants a
quiet, older companion ... a dog to lay on the sofa and watch TV with them. Someone who appreciates a dog who is loyal and loving, like me.
I’m not very big, only about 40-45 pounds. I am just sort of a plain-jane black and tan. But Ricky and Jay say I am
beautiful... outside and inside! I am a good watch-dog, too. If someone comes around I don't know, I will bark to let you
know! If you know someone who wants a loyal, loving girl like me, just contact Jay at hellerich@aol.com and he’ll
introduce us.
