Layla & Leon have one Sponsor Layla and Leon are looking for a new home! Layla and Leon were found abandoned with their mom when they were about one month old. They were all separated shortly afterwards with the hope that would help them be adopted into homes more easily. A loving family rescued Layla when she was about 4 months old. After they adopted her, they learned that she had a brother that was still waiting for a home ... so they went back and adopted Leon too. As Layla and Leon grew up they became somewhat wary of strangers and of certain dogs. When they’re nervous about someone they become a little uneasy. They need to live with an owner who has the time to work with them to correct this behavior. Unfortunately, their family has a new baby and no longer has the time to give them the training they need to overcome their fears. Although it broke their hearts to let go of these wonderful dogs, their family knew they just couldn’t keep them, and sending them back to the shelter was not an option. Fortunately, they contacted us here at Smiling Dog Farms to ask if we could make room for them while a new family is found for them. Of course, we said “yes” and they are now here at the farm, sharing the new townhome and play yard that their family had built for them. The good news is that these beautiful shepherd/chow mix babies are both very loving and smart. They are VERY quick learners. The trainer/behaviorist who has been working with them is confident that their behavorial problems can be fixed with time and attention. But for now, Layla and Leon need a new home with NO kids or other pets. A home where they can get the time and attention they deserve with a family who can give them a great life together. Leon is a total goofball! He loves to hop around outside and play. Layla is a very sweet girl and loves to give lots of kisses. She loves licking Leon’s ears (and he seems to really enjoy the attention).
