Dinah & Austin NEED Sponsors Whatever did we do to deserve this?  To be thrown away like a pile of trash?  We don't understand.  We loved our person and thought she loved us. She was evicted and instead of taking us with her, she left us behind to fend for ourselves. Initially there were three of us and we were taken to this place called a shelter. Our friend got lucky and was taken in by a Rescue Group.  We hear his health issues are being taken care of and he will live in a loving foster home until he’s adopted.  But Austin and I were left at the shelter not understanding everything that was happening to us.  Because we are older our  chances of being adopted are not that good ... especially not together. We are very close to each other, and all we have left in our lives is each other. A nice group of people thought we deserved to stay alive and stay together. They contacted Smiling Dog Farms and Ricky and Jay accepted us at their farm. We will have a townhome and play yard of our own. Even better, we’ll have each other.  After we got to the farm, Ricky and Jay discovered that we are actually quite a bit younger and healthier than we appeared when we were at the shelter. The stress of being at the shelter kind of wore us down! They’ve also found out that Austin is a bit more active and curious than I am. The guy can't stay in his crate. I'm very content to stay in my crate.  I'm a little on the shy side, but I love being petted. Once someone starts petting me I really hope they won’t stop. Jay and Ricky say I’m as sweet as can be. Jay and Ricky have told us that since we have lived together our entire lives that we will continue to do so.  They have put us in their New Directions Adoption Program but we must be adopted together.  They realize that Austin's exuberance will make placing us together a bit tougher, because he will require a savvy, experienced family who can come up with ways to contain him! But until that right family comes along, we'll be safe and together at the farm, where we're already loved and appreciated. If you or anyone you know would be interested in taking us home with you please contact Jay or Ricky at adoptions@smilingdogfarms.org for information on how to make that happen. While we wait for our new family to find us, we need help with funding for our daily care and maintenance. You can keep these big happy smiles on our faces by sponsoring us or making a one-time donation in our names. Smiling Dog Farms Giving hope to the forgotten, neglected & rejected... P.O.
