Daylee has three Sponsors
This beautiful girl is Daylee.
Daylee was adopted as a 3 month-old puppy back in April of 2009. On her first day home she
proved to be food-protective and bit her new pet mom. As time went by, Daylee became
unpredictable and even more possessive of her food and toys. She would be happy and
bouncy one minute, and snappy and biting the next. Her new mom tried to remedy the
situation and even sent Daylee to an Animal Behaviorist.
But unfortunately, the Animal Behaviorist said that her behaviors can’t be trained away and
declared Daylee to be unsafe. She said her aggression is irreversible. Just as this expert
predicted, Daylee has shown no signs of improvement as she got older. In fact, her aggression
has gotten worse with time. She has since bitten more people, without any provocation such as food or toys.
Her pet mom refused to put her down or relinquish her to a shelter where Daylee would be deemed unadoptable and
eventually euthanized. She feels that the unpredictable dog who has left her with scars is not the same sweet girl that
gives her kisses and is excited to see her when she returns home. She loves Daylee and knows that Daylee just can’t
help herself.
So she searched to find a place where Daylee would be able to live her life in safety and where she's accepted for who
she is. Fortunately, she was lucky enough to find Smiling Dog Farms. Here, Daylee is safe and loved, no matter what!
