Damon has one Sponsor Here is Damon.  Damon came to Smiling Dog Farms from BARC in Houston. He was out of time at the shelter and was on their euthanization list. Advocates for Damon contacted Smiling Dog Farms and asked us to take him on a “temporary” basis to give them time to find a traditional rescue or foster that would take him and find him placement in a permanent home. We agreed to help them, and Damon was placed into a House of Hope here at the farm. Our Houses of Hope are townhomes with play yards that are set aside for urgent situations where an adoptable dog has run out of time and the advocates for that dog need a place to “board” it while a more permanent situation is found. Unfortunately, a House of Hope often becomes permanent housing for these dogs, because once the urgency is removed, the advocates move on to focus time and resources on other rescues ... and seem to forget about their commitment for dogs they’ve placed with us as a “temporary” measure. It was said Damon is a Husky mix, but he is much smaller than a typical Husky. He’s a medium sized dog, maybe 40 pounds tops. He is older and has good manners in the house. Damon moves slowly and sometimes his back legs fail him, but he has no real medical issues and is in good health. He gets along well with other dogs and is currently living with a sweet older gal named Mitsubishi. We love Damon and we are glad he is here at the farm with us, where he is safe and loved. This sweet boy is one of our adoptable dogs and is part of our New Directions Adoption Program. He just needs a family to love him and give him a place where he can live out his golden years and be loved an cared for as he deserves. Please help us find a new family for Damon.
