Brogan has one Sponsor Brogan is a poster boy for why Smiling Dog Farms exists! A woman in another state adopted him when he was a puppy. She learned very quickly that something was clearly wrong with Brogan. He was VERY aggressive right out of the box ... which is unusual in a puppy. But he was cute and fluffy and she thought that with kindness and patience she could train the aggressiveness out of him. Unfortunately, this was not so! Brogan never stopped being aggressive ... in fact, as he got older, he got much worse. After a while Brogan’s mom came to have a boyfriend, who became a fiance, and then a husband. Somehow, against all odds, Brogan accepted him as part of their pack. Although he had accepted his new dad, they could never allow Brogan to be near any other people. It was when they bought a home in the suburbs that his mom came to truly understand that a dog as horrendously aggressive as Brogan is a clear danger to neighborhood children. If someone accidentally came into their yard, Brogan would not just bite ... he would maul them ... and could potentially even kill someone! He is an extremely dangerous dog! There are many who thought Brogan should be put to death, but Brogan’s mom loved him and didn’t want him to die, so she sent him to us here at the farm. No one knows what caused him to be so aggressive. But it isn’t his fault. Here at the farm, he is clearly labeled as dangerous, and there are extra precautions to make sure he can never get loose. We use a catch pole to corral him when we need to clean his yard or give him flea treatment and meds. Brogan is not a dog who endears himself to you. He’s content here at the farm, but he’ll let you know in no uncertain terms if he thinks you’ve come too close to “his” space! Despite his aggression, he deserves to live, and so he’ll live out his days here at the farm. We are, after all, a Sanctuary for dogs like Brogan!
