In my short little lifetime I have had my ears butchered, I've been mistreated, and then I finally ended up in a high-kill gassing shelter.  A group of nice ladies advocated really hard to get me out of that bad place and get me to safety. Once they got me out, they contacted Smiling Dog Farms to see if I could come here, and they said “yes”. Even though  I had help getting to the farm, I couldn’t seem to get any help raising funding for a townhome and play yard. Ricky started two different ChipIns for me but neither of them raised much. But Ricky and Jay never give up on their dogs, so Ricky gave it one more try, and guess what! A really nice man named Meraj saw my ChipIn ... and when he saw that nobody else was contributing, he paid the entire amount I needed for my townhome and play yard himself! He gets the Dog’s Best Friend Award as far as I’m concerned. I’m so happy to be here at Smiling Dog Farms where I am safe and loved.  Jay and Ricky have put me into their New Directions Adoption Program. They think that in spite of all the hard knocks I’ve had, I’m a good candidate for adoption. I’m about 5 years old (they don’t know for sure) so I have lots of good years left. I don’t do well with other dogs, and I don’t like cats, but I’m very very people friendly. They think I’ll make a great companion if somebody will just take a chance on me. But they tell me that finding the perfect family takes time, and I must be patient.
