He is a short haired, mix-breed - probably a combination of Labrador and boxer, with maybe a little hound dog and who knows what else thrown in. He's an easy going, mellow guy that just goes with the flow. He doesn't mind just hanging around, and is not a bit fidgety. Scrappy isn't a high energy dog, so he's a great companion for going on nice leisurely walks, or snuggling with you on the couch now and then. He's really good with other dogs. Thinks cats are okay. And he loves people. A great inside/outside pet. When Brittan and David saw our description of Scrappy, they thought he might be just the dog they were looking for. So they contacted Melody to find out more about this great guy ... and the rest is history.Scrappy didn’t have to travel far to get to his new home. He is now happily settling in with Brittan and David and their cat, right here in Texas! He’s got a new buddy to play with! It just doesn’t get any better than that!Scrappy atSmiling Dogs FarmAt his new homeAdopted 2012Ronald (on the right) and Nancy have spent their entire life together. Although we don’t know for sure, we believe that they may be brother and sister. Both were surrendered by a breeder, and we are told that they are pure bred Basset Hounds. We were determined to find these bonded dogs a home together, and thanks to the efforts of our Adoption Partner, Melody, that has happened! Here they are living the good life in their new home. What a great and happy ending!Happy Endings - Dogs that have been AdoptedA few years back Smiling Dog Farms established our New Directions Adoption Program. With the help of our wonderful Adoption Partners we have been able to find new loving forever homes for many of the adoptable dogs that came here thinking the farm would be their last home. Our Adoption Partners, and their teams of Fosters, take our dogs into their homes and teach them social graces -- like not to poop on the carpet or chew up the TV remote. This is an important step for our babies who live at the farm under "dog rules". They need to learn how to behave with a family so that they will succeed in their adoptive placements. Here are just a few of our Happy Endings ... read and enjoy!Adopted 2012
